Commencement 2009

December Convocation

The 2008 December Graduates Convocation will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Zellerbach Auditorium.

The December Graduates Convocation is the only University-wide event that celebrates the accomplishments of over 3,000 graduates who will be completing their studies in December.

The event begins with a senior procession into Zellerbach Auditorium.

Please see UC Berkeley December Convocation for more information.

Spring Commencement

The Spring 2009 Commencement Ceremony will be held in the Hearst Greek Theater on Sunday, May 17, at 9:00 am.

The ceremony is about two hours long. Immediately afterward, there will be light refreshments for all CNR graduates and their guests at the Campanile Esplanade.

All CNR students who graduated or will graduate in these semesters are invited to participate:

  • Summer 2008
  • Fall 2008
  • Spring 2009
  • Summer 2009
  • Fall 2009

Registration for Commencement

The deadline to register for commencement will open in February 2009.

"So, Are You Really Graduating?”

Congratulations on this momentous occasion! The College of Natural Resources will host several brown bag workshops from 12-1pm in the CNR Student Resource Center, 260 Mulford Hall, during Spring Semester.

The purpose of these events will be to review graduation requirements, DARS reports, Campus/College/University & major requirements for graduating, including commencement festivities.

Commencement and Graduation are two entirely separate events. Commencement is a ceremony, a celebration for you and your family of the completion (or near completion!) of your college years. Participating in Commencement does not mean that you have graduated. Graduation is the process by which you receive a Bachelor's degree at Berkeley. See Graduating for more information.
